An air ambulance was called out to an incident in Westcliff.
An eyewitness has told the Echo the aircraft landed at the Prince Avenue Academy and Nursery, in Hornby Avenue, earlier this afternoon.
The nature of the incident is not yet known but the eyewitness claims one person was taken to hospital via land ambulance for further treatment.
The East of England Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
