A Leigh restaurant has closed until next week after a member of staff was "pinged" on the NHS app.
The Grove in Leigh will be closed until Tuesday, July 27, after the Test a Trace notification system alerted the staff member they had been in contact with somebody who had the virus.
The staff member, who has tested negative for Covid-19 since getting the alert, is now in self-isolation.
Despite the negative test, the restaurant still has to close inline with Government protocols.
In a statement released on social media restaurant management said: "We apologise profusely to all our customers. We are trying our best to reach all those booked in for the weekend.
"If you know anyone that has a booking for breakfast, lunch or dinner please kindly relay this message to them. Thank you kindly."
Department for Health and Social Care data shows 10,924 people were told to self-isolate across Essex after being in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19 in the week to July 14 – the latest available data.
This was up from 7,050 the week before, and means 17,974 people have been told to isolate in the latest 14 days alone.
