A MUM was left “terrified” for her life after a man threatened her with a crowbar in front of her two young children.

Christie Reason said her life has been made “miserable” after a number of what, she believes to be, targeted attacks.

The mum of three had “shivers down her spine” when she saw the man pull out the crowbar during the attempted attack in Edleland, Basildon, on July 15.

That evening, the family’s car had both wing mirrors yanked off and smashed as well as most of their number plate.

It comes just after the car was marked with permanent marker.

Christie believes the same person is behind all three incidents’.

She said: “We went food shopping and then drove back to the garages in front of our home. There were other cars and we got blocked in.

“I put my two younger boys in the car and in that time the man starts talking and screaming. He was threatening us.

“He then got out a crowbar which sent shivers down my spine.

“He swung the crowbar over my head screaming.

“To be threatened with a crowbar over my head, I’m terrified for my life and my kids.

“My daughter is wheelchair bound as well.

“That night they’ve pulled off both wing mirrors.

They’ve also yanked off three quarters of the number plate which was just out of spite to get at us.”

Christie has been left terrified of another attack that could happen at her home.

She added: “They’re making my life miserable.

“They know where I live and if they are going to do that to the car they could come to the home.”

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “We are investigating an incident where it was reported a man had acted aggressively towards a woman who was sat in a car and produced a crowbar.

“It happened in Eldeland, Basildon at around 3pm on July 15.
