A SMALL business owner has taken a leap and moved to bigger premises after thriving during the pandemic.

Jade Murphy, owner of Jade Murphy Hair and Beauty is expanding her business to move into a new site at Headmasters House in Coggeshall.

The business was previously based at Jade’s home in Kelvedon during the first few months before temporarily moving to a retail area in Tom’s Garden Centre in Great Totham.

According to a report by the National Hair and Beauty Federation (NHBF), the beauty and hair industry has been one of the sectors hardest hit by the pandemic with turnover falling by 45 per cent last year.

But Jade, who is from Kelvedon, credits her success to the support of her loyal customers and looks forward to being a part of the Coggeshall community.

The move will also see her take on more staff.

She said: “The last few months have been so hard for all of us in the beauty industry, and it’s going to be a long time until we are back working at full steam.

“But I have incredibly loyal customers and with their support I have been able to grow my business, despite the restrictions we have faced.

“I’m delighted to have taken up residency in Coggeshall.

“It’s a vibrant town and home to lots of exciting small businesses.

“I’m looking forward to growing my business further over the next few months and being part of such a lovely community.”
