Police in Southend caught several motorists breaking the law during a crackdown on speeding.
Members of the Community Policing Team had set up in Thorpe Hall Avenue yesterday (Monday, August 23) to follow up on concerns about people driving over the speed limit.
They were carrying out speed checks throughout the day and caught seven drivers going over the limit, despite being dressed in bright colours and holding speed guns.
Officers say they will be dealing with each offender “appropriately”.

Police have been carrying out numerous road operations in Southend this summer in an effort to crackdown on bad driving.
Last month, they stopped more than 100 drivers in a single day during a special operation.
Nearly half were stopped for speeding, while other offences included not wearing a seatbelt, using mobile phones and careless driving.
Anyone who witnesses bad driving is asked to send information to Essex Police online.
