A man was arrested thanks to the work of a police dog after reports he had been waving around a golf club and causing damage in a Benfleet pub.
Officers arrived on the scene after the reports, but say the man "did not hang around to speak to police and ran off".
Police dog McCoy was called to the scene and soon found the man "hiding in some bushes".
An arrest was then made.
McCoy has received praise from social media users, with a post about his work receiving more than 100 likes.
