A man has been charged with murder after a man was assaulted in Pitsea and died in hospital.
The victim, a 67-year-old man from Pitsea, was assaulted in the area of Malyons Mews on Wednesday 15 September.
He suffered a head injury and sadly died in hospital the following day.
A post mortem examination found he died as a result of a traumatic head injury.
A 47-year-old man from Pitsea has been charged with murder.
He has also been charged with conspiracy to supply heroin and crack cocaine in relation to a separate investigation.
He is due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday 20 September.
