Traffic is continuing to build up across south Essex, as drivers queue for petrol throughout the area.
This morning (September 25) proved pretty hectic, with cars lining up around Bournes Green in Southend even before 9am to get to the nearby BP garage.
While shoppers say Tesco petrol station in Pitsea was packed for a second day in a row, with yesterday (September 24) proving an "absolute madness".
Bus services were also disrupted earlier today, with the First Bus number 75 "unable to serve Tesco Petrol Station due to how busy it is."
The 100 bus was also affected due to queues outside a petrol station.
⚠️SERVICE UPDATE - 100⚠️
— First Essex (@FirstEssex) September 25, 2021
Due to queues outside the petrol station, Southend Rd and Palmers Ave will not be served by the 100 Basildon - Lakeside.
We will divert via Lodge Ln & Hathaway Rd in both directions today.
The BP garage at Nether Mayne, Basildon, is understood to have temporarily closed, with a "no fuel" sign left outside the Murco garage on the Five Bells roundabout.
With the roads so busy around Southend, Arriva services have also been affected.
A spokesman said: "Our service 1s are now serving Southchurch Road as normal but please note we have had to start terminating our Rayleigh bound buses at Rayleigh Weir due to Rayleigh being gridlocked.
"We will keep you updated as we progress through the day sorry for any inconvenience."
We will bring you updates as we have them.
