Families say they heard shouting at a home before a man died in an incident.

Police launched a murder investigation after the man died following the incident on Saturday night.

Officers were called to reports of an injured man, who is thought to have been attacked in Hainault Avenue, Westcliff.

This morning two officers and a cordon was at the scene outside the home. The cordon covered two homes in the street.

Worried families say they heard shouting and some neighbours are worried to go out.

Echo:

One mother of one said: "I heard shouting at the house before police arrived. I notice the blue flashing lights on Saturday night and realised something had happened.

"Some families with young children are worried about going out and are quite scared. It's not nice to have this going on where you live.

"I cannot move my car as it's parked outside the house and I keep checking to see if I can move it."
