Sir Keir Starmer took a break from the Labour Party conference to watch Arsenal thrash arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur at a city-centre pub.
The Labour leader was at The Font pub in Union Street, Brighton, amid his party's conference on the seafront which runs until Wednesday.
The Gunners beat Spurs 3-1, although Sir Keir missed most of the action as he only caught the closing minutes of the clash.
It was a better result for the Labour leader than the traditional conference football game between the party and political journalists.
The lobby reporters secured a 5-1 win against the Labour team.
Sir Keir said it is "brilliant" to be in Brighton as thousands of party faithful descend on the city for the party's annual conference – the first with him at the helm.
He joined Hove and Portslade MP Peter Kyle and shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves yesterday morning to walk along George Street in Hove.
He spoke with customers outside Gail's bakery, chatted to workers at Little Jasmine Therapies and Bert's Homestore and mingled with shoppers in the street.
Mr Kyle said: "It was a great visit and you can see how appealing Keir is to residents and people in the street.
