A motorist who drove off from police tried to hide his vehicle in a car park.
Officers from Essex Police’s Operational Support Group had attempted to stop a Volvo while out on patrol in Basildon yesterday (Thursday, October 7).
The driver of the car sped off but officers eventually found the vehicle in a car park.
It was believed the driver had attempted to hide the Volvo in the car park.
They were nowhere to be seen but police say they will be traced and dealt with.
In a tweet, the OSG said: “This car made off from us today in Basildon.
"The driver tried to hide the car in a car park and made off on foot.
"We found the car however and know who the driver is so expect a knock from us soon and a day in court.
"Car seized thanks to recovery and their specialist gadgets."
