A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following a crash in Southend.

A parked police vehicle was hit by a car yesterday evening and then allegedly drove off.

Police gave chase and were able to stop the car when it drove into a cul-de-sac.

Officers arrested a woman on suspicion of drink-driving.

They found an eight-year-old child also inside the car.

It was the second arrest made by the Operational Support Group in Southend yesterday evening.

They had also arrested a man after they found drugs inside a BMW.

The driver reportedly had no insurance or a driver’s licence so officers seized the vehicle.
