AN MP is calling on his constituents to come forward and get their Covid booster jabs.
The NHS is now inviting the over 50s, vulnerable people and frontline health workers to receive a third dose of the coronavirus vaccine to give them greater protection over the winter.
Anyone having their third dose must ensure it has been at least six months since they had their second jab.
Among those to already have had a booster jab is James Duddridge, who received his vaccine at the Civic Centre in Southend last week.
The Rochford and Southend East MP is now calling on people eligible for a third jab to book it as soon as possible.
He said: “As soon as I was called forward for my Covid booster jab, I booked into the vaccine centre here at the Civic Centre.
"It's important that as we head into winter we do everything possible to prolong the protection vaccines offer.
"The NHS are contacting those eligible directly, and I would encourage residents to get their vaccine as soon as they are called forward so we can have the strongest possible protection over the winter months."
