A MAIN road was closed last night for several hours after a serious crash on Canvey.
Somnes Avenue was shut in both directions by police at around 7.30pm, after the crash.
A man has been left with serious injuries followingt the incident, the Echo understands.
The East of England ambulance has confirmed a person was rushed to hospital.
It's believed the crash occured near the Waterside leisure centre.

A spokesman from the East of England Ambulance Service, said: "We were called at 7.09pm with reports of a crashin Somnes Avenue, Canvey.
"We sent one ambulance and a rapid response vehicle.
"One person was taken to Southend Hospital for further care."
Canvey Island - B1014 Somnes Avenue - CLOSED in both directions between B1014 (Waterside Farm roundabout) and the roundabout with Link Road following an accident.
