A delivery driver who stuffed his car full of packages was stopped by police over safety concerns.

Officers have been out in Southend this morning carrying out an operation aimed at cracking down on bad driving.

One car stopped in Westcliff was pulled over after it was spotted with boxes and packages piled up inside.

Officers had spoken to the driver amid safety concerns, with the packages piled high on all passenger seats.

Safer Roads Southend posted a picture of vehicle on Twitter and wrote: "Road Safety event in Westcliff, not sure if Safety was on this drivers mind this morning."

Officers have also seized an privately owned e-scooter in Southend during the operation.

E-scooters are not allowed in public areas except for those hired out as part of a trial by Spin.
