POLICE have show their support for a men’s mental health group after appearing at a walking event.
Officers with Essex Police took part in the Walk and Talk 4 Men group in Witham.
Founded by James Mace, who was at the event, the men’s mental health support group regularly holds walks.
Working with the town council, the group’s latest outing took place in Witham on Sunday.
Starting at Witham Town Hall, the walk was joined by Witham councillor Chelsey Jay (pictured).
Essex Police also made an appearance to show their support for men’s mental health.
S/Sgt Simon Jesse, who is a well-known face in the Witham community, attended the walk.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Officers were supporting world mental health day and walkandtalk4men.com by accompanying a walk in Witham.
“Walk and Talk 4 Men is a great initiative supporting men and their mental health.
“They walked and talked about everything and anything, sharing stories along the fantastic River Walk.”
The group is set to revisit the Braintree district next month with another walk planned at Braintree and Bocking Public Gardens on Saturday, November 6.
