A new Poundstretcher will be opening in Basildon tomorrow (Friday, October 15).

It will be the retailer’s second shop in the town and forms part of a push to open 50 new stores.

The new site will be based at 23A Town Square and officially opens tomorrow.

Here’s what we know about the new shop:

What time will it open?

The opening ceremony will take place at 10am and will feature two-hours of entertainment to mark the first day of opening.

There will be music, games and family activities run by entertainer Ian Gee.

The grand opening will also allow shoppers the chance to win £250 worth of Entertainer vouchers, whole £200 will be given to Basildon Food Bank.

What is the new shop like?

The new store has said to have been modelled to enhance the shopping experience and makes it even easier to find “bargains and savings” on branded household and food products.

It will offer the usual range of homeware products and household items you would expect to see in Poundstretcher stores.

There will also be a range of Halloween decorations available, as well as food and drinks.

What has Poundstretcher said about the opening?

Property and legal director, Gerry Loughran, said: “We are pleased to be opening a brand new store to the people of Basildon with lots of fantastic branded products, all at bargain prices, and look forward to opening another 50 stores over the coming months, creating over 1,000 jobs.
