Alongside a team of three, said: “It’s honestly mind-blowing. We can’t believe it, and I don’t think it’s really sunk in yet.

“I can’t get my head around it. It’s incredible.”

The business, which didn’t receive any grants during the Covid pandemic due to not being open long enough, is now looking to take more staff on.

In the past year, Kendrick’s has won the Eastern Small Business award as part of the Federation of Small Businesses Group, finished runners up in the Best Interior Award with the Modern Barber Magazine, and was listed in the Natwest Top 100 for barbers.

Mr Kendrick, added: “We’re all a really close family in here. Me and my team are all really close friends, I love them all to bits.

“Some of them have been with me since day one. The great part of the job is that you meet someone different every 30 minutes.

“Yesterday, I had a policeman, vicar, and gas engineer all back to back. I absolutely love it.

“We make sure that our clients are giving an experience, rather than a quick in and out haircut.

“We don’t do any dry cuts, it’s all washed through. Our clients are absolutely brilliant, some of them are really close friends, and have been coming here since we opened.

“We wouldn’t be here without them.”

Sundays’ final is being held at the Excel Centre in London.
