Belfairs Methodist Church, Leigh
POLICE have swarmed an area near a church in Leigh this afternoon, following reports of a major incident.
Several police cars have been seen near the Belfairs Methodist Church, on Eastwood Road North.
The Echo understands the incident took place outside the church.
Emergency services are also reported to be nearby.
Sir David Amess, MP for Southend West, was due to be holding his surgery at the church, between 10am and 1pm.

Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service was contacted for comment.
