A man suffered burns to his eye and lips after an "unknown substance" squirted into his face.

Officers are now investigating following the attack on Canvey where the man in his 20s was targeted.

It happened at the zebra crossing near to Subway in Furtherwick Road at around 2.10pm on Sunday 10 October.

The victim, a man in his 20s, had been in his silver vehicle when he was approached by another man who was on foot.

When the victim wound down his front passenger window he had the liquid squirted into his face, causing burns to his left eye and lips.

The attacker has been described to us as being of mixed race, between 20 and 30 years-old, around 6ft tall, slim/muscular build, with short black hair, and short thick beard.
