From drink driving offences to alleged touching without consent - the magistrates courts have been pretty busy.

Here's our round of cases in the south Essex magistrates courts.

Reece Austen, 24, of Abbotts Drive, Stanford-le-Hope appeared in court charged with possession of a quantity of Cocaine, with intent to supply. The case was adjourned to November 3 in Colchester Magistrates Court for plea.

Billy Galea, 26, of Brickfield Road, Basildon appeared in court charged with multiple offences. He was charged with intentionally touching a woman aged 16 or over and that touching was sexual when she did not consent and you did not reasonably believe that she was consenting. He denied the offence and it's been sent for trial at Basildon Crown Court on November 11.

He was charged with assaulting a woman by beating her, and this matter will also go to trial.

Another charge he faced was without lawful excuse, damaged the front door of a home, causing damage under five thousand pounds belonging to Basildon Council intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged. This matter has also been sent for trial at Basildon Crown Court.

Another charge faced by Mr Galea is without lawful excuse, damaged a mirror, wardrobe door and clothing intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged.

This has been sent for trial at the same court on the same day.

Mihaita-valerian Ciortan, 33, of Cornwall Road, Bowers Gifford was charged with droving a car in Pound Lane, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in your breath, namely 89 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

The case has been committed to Basildon Crown Court for sentence on November 11.

He was given an interim disqualification from driving until dealt with.

He was also charged with driving a car dangerously on a road, namely Pound Lane, Basildon, Essex and this was sent for trial at the same court on the same day.

Jemma Westlake, 40, of London Road, Wickford was fined after driving while over the drink driving limit.

He was charged with droving a car in Golden Jubilee Way, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in your blood, namely 190 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, exceeded the prescribed limit.

She admitted the crime and was fined £120, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34, and to pay costs of £105 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

She was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months.
