Basildon: Borough residents in the courts

Here's the latest cases involving residents from the borough.

Joshua Lloyd, 26, of Oak Green, Billericay, was in court charged with assault of a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm, on August 4 2021. It is alleged he attacked a woman. He denied it and the case will be sent for trial at Chelmsford Magistrates Court.

Kira Daniel, 23, of Temple Close, Billericay, was in court charged with exceeding a variable speed limit.

They were driving on the M25 in Cranham over 50mph. She was fined £220.00, and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34.00 and costs of £90.00.

The driver also has their driving record endorsed with 3 points.

Lee Mallett, 38, of Oak Lane, Crays Hill, was charged with failing to comply with the requirements of post-custodial supervision. He had failed without reasonable excuse to comply with the supervision requirements imposed following release from a period of imprisonment in that Mr. Mallett failed to maintain contact as instructed between August 27 and August 31 in accordance with instructions. Mr Mallett failed to provide acceptable documentary evidence of reasons for absences within the specified time limit . In accordance with section 256AC of the Criminal Justice Act 2003. A warrant for arrest without bail as the defendant poses a high risk to others.

Robyn Hales, 24, of Lincoln Road, Basildon, was charged with possession of a controlled drug of class b - amphetamine. On November 1 last year in Benfleet he allegedly had 2.19g of amphetamine.

He indicated plea of Guilty. He was remanded on unconditional bail until November 23 at Southend Magistrates Court. The adjournment reason is a non-standard reason which is for sentence after trial.

He was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit, he had Benzoylecgonine, 160 micrograms of analyte per litre of blood.

This matter has been adjourned for the trial.
