A MAN has been charged in connection with a burglary and the assault of a frontline worker following a rapid response from police.
Essex Police received reports someone had entered a property in Crossfield Road, Clacton, at about 7.20am on Monday.
During the break-in the person is said to have stolen a sum of money and a number of bank cards.
Officers responded quickly to the call and within just one hour the force had managed to arrest a man.
Jason Patmore, 46, of Carlisle Way, Basildon, has since been charged with burglary, attempted burglary, fraud, possession of an offensive weapon.
He was also charged with two counts of common assault on an emergency worker.
Mr Patmore appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on October 19 and is next due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on November 16.
