ECHO newspapers took centre stage on a London fashion catwalk after a talented photographer created an array of dresses out of newspapers.

Pitsea-based photographer Jaydee Niall, 55, spent months preparing the dresses as she pieced together pages from the paper to create outfits.

The mother of five said it was a dream come true to see her work on the fashion catwalk of the Chabs show in aid of Cancel Cancer Africa.

She started her labour of love back in May and has had a lifelong ambition to see her creations hit a fashion catwalk.

Echo:

Jaydee said: “It was wonderful and I had two collections with a punk and also a circus-themed runway.

“I had 15 models and they all did really well.

Echo:

“I always wanted to do this as a student, but we couldn’t afford a top college.”

The event was held at the Hilton Hotel, in Canary Wharf in London, on October 16.

The team had their own dressing room and grandmother of two Miss Niall recalled it was pretty busy as the youngsters faced a quick turn around.

Jaydee is now looking forward to and creating new looks for her next events too.

She said: “One boy stepped in last minute as another was very nervous.

Echo:

“All the kids did great, but he was amazing too, I told them to just do their own thing.

“I am doing the same event in March and it will be a spring themed collection, I am making vintage art doll style of clothes.

“It is still going to be weird and older stuff - as that’s very much me I like doing things that are different
