Part of the A13 will once again be closed this weekend as part of the ongoing widening project.
Both carriageways between Stanford-le-Hope and Orsett Cock will shut at 9pm today (Friday, October 22) and won’t reopen again until 5am on Monday (October 25).
A diversion is in place via the A1013 Stanford Road, however drivers are advised to use the official diversion along the A127 instead to prevent congestion on local roads.
Work is continuing on the widening of the A13 and it is hoped the scheme will be complete this winter.
It will see the road widened to three lanes between Stanford and Orsett.
Work is also taking place next week and will mean one lane of the eastbound carriageway will be closed between Tilbury and Lakeside.
The closures will be in place between 10pm and 5am on Wednesday and Thursday.
The A13 will be closed between Stanford-le-Hope and Orsett from 9pm tonight until 5am on Monday 25 October for major works. Please don’t divert through villages, use the A127 instead to avoid delays. More info https://t.co/o9jiCJxWIN pic.twitter.com/TicQfBZiao
