TRAIN hiccups saw services disrupted throughout Saturday morning as commuters heading towards London were left waiting.

A fault between Leigh-on-Sea and Benfleet saw c2c’s London-bound train line blocked just after 9am on Saturday.

It briefly caused issues on train services running across the whole c2c network, with the potential of cancellations and delays.

Quick-thinking engineers managed to get the line reopened just before 9.30am, however, less than 20 minutes later, the line was once again in disarray due to another “train fault”.

It meant alternative train provider Greater Anglia had to convey stranded passengers via “any reasonable” route it could.

All issues were resolved for good just after 11.45am with a c2c spokesman claiming “services are no longer affected by this problem”.

The transport provider tweeted: “We are sorry for the disruption to your journey this morning. You can claim compensation if you were delayed.”
