Long queues have formed on the A13 due to a lane closure on the eastbound carriageway.
The closure is in place between Stanford-le-Hope and the Five Bells interchange due to resurfacing work taking place.
It means long queues have formed between Stanford-le-Hope and the Pitsea flyover.
Queues are now several miles long with the AA estimating delays of up to 10 minutes are likely for drivers.
