MOTORISTS will be diverted through Basildon this weekend when a carriageway on the A13 is closed for repairs.

Essex Highways has announced the eastbound stretch of the road, known as the Vange bypass, will be closed between the Five Bells interchange and Pitsea.

The closure is in place between 9pm Friday and will be lifted on Monday (November 15) at 5am.

The work is described as “essential carriageway repairs”.

The London-bound side of the road will remain open throughout.
