Drink drivers appear in Essex's lower courts every week.

The offence attracts a compulsory driving ban and usually results in a hefty fine.

The drink driving limit for breath is 35 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath while for blood it is 80 milligrammes of blood per 100 millilitres of blood.

These are some of the drink and drug drivers to appear in magistrates' courts in Chelmsford and Basildon in the last few weeks.

Chiddzie Adingipu, 34, of Highland Avenue, Basildon, was caught with 134 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was stopped on the A13 on September 18. He was banned from driving for 32 months and ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid work. Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court also ordered him to pay a victim services charge of £95 and prosecution costs of £105.

Ryan Wilkinson, 27, of Ameland Road, Canvey, was found to have 69 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was stopped in Basildon on September 26. At Southend Magistrates’ Court he was handed an 18 month ban and fined £400. He must also pay a £40 victim services fund and £105 prosecution costs.

Kerey Joyce, 33, of Chalk End, Basildon, was found to have  83 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was stopped in Basildon on October 9. At Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court he was banned for 20 months and ordered to pay a £120 fine. He must also pay a £34 victim services fund and £105 prosecution costs.

Thomas Fox, 41, of Malyons, Basildon, was found to have 42 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was stopped in Southend on September 12. At Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court he was banned from the roads for 12 months and fined £484. He must also pay a £34 victim services fund and £105 prosecution costs.

Rickie Kerry, 28, of Great Ranton, Basildon, was found to have 95 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was stopped in Southend on September 24. At Basildon Magistrates’ Court he was handed a 36 month ban and fined £180. He must also pay a £34 victim services fund.

Georgia Page, 24, of Rayleigh Road, Leigh on Sea, was found to have 97 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when she was stopped in Southend on September 7. At Southend Magistrates’ Court she was banned from the roads for 23 months and ordered to complete 40 hours unpaid work. She must pay a victim services fund charge of £95 and prosecution costs of £105.
