Forensic police officers and a cordon were spotted near a block of flats after an incident.
Emergency services were seen near the Bewley Court flats in Whittingham Avenue, Southend at about 11pm last night.

Images show a forensic officer on the ground carrying out investigations, with a cordon in place and an officer standing on the edge of the area.
The Echo understands there were scenes of Crime Officers in attendance with a Police guard in place.
Essex Police has been contacted for comment.
