POLICE are appealing for witness to a collision which saw a woman killed as family members pay tribute.

Officers with Essex Police are investigating after a collision in Leigh on Sea in which a woman sadly died.

Police were contacted at 2.55pm on Tuesday, October 26 with reports of a collision between a van and a pedestrian at the junction of Eaton Road and Highlands Boulevard.

The woman was taken to hospital where she sadly died.

Essex Police can now identify the victim as Olivia Chesney, aged 76.

Paying tribute, a statement from Olivia’s family said: “Olivia was a dearly loved mother, sister, aunt and partner, and a friend to everyone that knew her.

“Olivia was retired, having previously worked for the gas board.

“All the family members and friends will greatly miss Olivia very much.”

Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who was driving in the area at the time and who may have dashcam footage which would be useful.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, citing incident 702 of October 26.
