Hundreds of people appear in Essex's lower courts every week.

They often answer a wide range of charges. 

These are some of the people to appear in magistrates' courts in Southend and London in the last few weeks accused of assaulting an emergency worker.

Gheorghe Cobzaru, 49, of Southchurch Road, Southend, indicated a plea of guilty to a charge of assaulting an emergency working in Westcliff on May 30. At Southend Magistrates’ Court he was fined £120 and ordered to pay £50 compensation. He must also pay a victim services charge of £34 and prosecution costs of £145. He received no separate penalty for a charge of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour on the same date.

John Beaver, 33, of Hastings Road, Southend, indicated a plea of guilty to a charge of assaulting an emergency working in Leigh in August 2020. He was made subject of a community order and must complete 75 hours of unpaid work. At Southend Magistrates’ Court he was also ordered to pay compensation of £100, a victim services fund of £95 and £100 prosecution costs. There was no separate penalty for a charge of obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty.

Lisa Allen, 40, of Southchurch Road, Southend, admitted assaulting an emergency worker and trespassing on railway property at Bow Road in London on September 10. At Westminster Magistrates' Court she was made subject of a community order and must complete 100 hours unpaid work. She was also ordered to pay a victim services fund charge of £95 and £85 prosecution costs.
