SCHOOLS across Essex did their bit to raise funds for BBC Children in Need 2021.
Darlinghurst Academy in Leigh saw the children dress up in bright colours and Lee Chapel Primary in Basildon pulled out all the stops with special outfits on the day.
Hamstel Juniors, Southend, and Porters Grange, Southend, both cooked up a storm and had a bake sale to raise vital charity money.
Smiles were on the faces of schoolchildren from West Leigh, Leigh-on-Sea, Friars, Shoeburyness and Hamstel Infants, Southend.
At Kents Hill, in Benfleet, pupils and staff dressed up in bright colourful clothes and donated a £1 for Children In Need.
They held a colouring competition and the EYFS played some Pudsey inspired games. The Year 1 children designed Pudsey bears in the style of Kandinsky.
Recent researched from BBC Children in Need has shown that the past 18 months have had a huge impact on the UK’s children and young people.
Money raised will fund life changing projects and charities, providing crucial services.
For over half a century BBC Children in Need have been raising money for young people in the UK that need help.
The first ever children’s BBC radio appeal was launched on Christmas Day in 1927 and raised £1,300 (around £70,000 in today’s money).
