FIVE people who dodged rail fares when travelling on trains in and out of south Essex have all been fined.
They were all prosecuted by Greater Anglia after being caught without a ticket.
The cases were heard in court on November 10 and saw each offender handed hefty fines.
They were:
- Gary Wybrow, 39, travelled between Romford and Southend Victoria on June 9 having not paid his £12.10 fare.
Wybrow, of Cheyne Path, London, was ordered to pay for the ticket, costs of £184 and was fined £220.
- James Lomas, 19, travelled between Prittlewell and Southend Victoria on June 5 having not paid his £12.90 fare.
Lomas, of Hall Lane, Upminster, was ordered to pay for the ticket, costs of £184 and was fined £220.
- Gareth Pedrick, 41, travelled between Southend Victoria and Chelmsford on June 17 having not paid his £13.70 fare.
Pedrick, of Lucerne Way, Writtle, was ordered to pay for the ticket, costs of £184 and was fined £220.
- Paul May, 46, travelled between Shenfield and Prittlewell on July 8 having not paid his £11.10 fare.
May, of Twyford Avenue, Great Wakering, was ordered to pay for the ticket, costs of £184 and was fined £220.
- David Stoddart, 33, travelled between Prittlewell and Wickford on June 8 having not paid his £8.40 fare.
Stoddart, of Albert Road, Southend, was ordered to pay for the ticket, costs of £184 and fined £220.
