Three weeks of roadworks will begin on Canvey Island next week.
The work is taking place along Somnes Avenue, near to Meppel Avenue, and will see the existing pedestrian crossing revamped.
It begins on Monday, November 29, and is due to finish the week beginning December 13.
Other activities will include the installation of underground ducting across Somnes Avenue, repairs to the traffic island as well as replacing all above-ground equipment.
The work will take place Monday to Friday between 7pm and 5am.
There will be lane restrictions in place managed by temporary traffic lights to provide a safe working area for contractors.
Part of Meppel Avenue will be closed during working hours.
All traffic restrictions will be removed when work is not taking place.
A temporary controlled pedestrian crossing will be installed across Somnes Avenue during the works.
Essex Highways, which is responsible for the work, says dates may be subject to change if there is and weather or “unexpected issues” arise.
