TWO areas in south Essex are now among the county’s most infected areas when it comes to coronavirus.
Both Rayleigh North East and West Shoebury are recording localised infection rates above 800 cases per 100,000 people, according to the latest data.
Only three other neighbourhoods in Essex recorded higher rates in the week ending November 18.
West Shoebury saw an alarming rise in cases in that period, with 91 infection recorded.
Rayleigh North East recorded fewer cases by contrast but has a similar rate of infection due to its smaller population.
