A man appeared in court charged with damaging a phone to the value of £500.

Altan Akar, 48, of Beresford Road, Southend was in court after June 25 in Pitsea without lawful excuse, he damaged Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to the value of £500 belonging to a person intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged.

His Plea changed to Guilty, previous plea Not Guilty. He was eemanded on unconditional bail until December 17 for the trial, for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

On the same day in Pitsea he assaulted a man by beating him. His Plea changed to Guilty, previous plea Not Guilty and he was Remanded on unconditional bail until the same day for the same reasons.

Seare Berhane, 22, of Sutton Road, Southend was in court charged with a number of assaults.

He's charged with assaulting a man at Chinnerys, Southend on May 25, the matter has been adjourned to November 29 for service of postal requisition.

He's also charged with with intent to cause three men harassment, alarm or distress used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour thereby causing that or another person harassment, alarm or distress and the offence was racially aggravated on the same day.

It was adjourned to the same day for the same reasons.

He's charged with assaulting a man on the same day at the same venue and the matter is adjourned to the same day for the same reasons.

He was also charged with another count of assault on the same day at the same time and it's also been adjourned to the same day for the same reasons.

A man appeared in court charged with assaults and harassment.

Vincent Judd, 36, of Napier Close, Basildon was in court charged with on April 11 at Benfleet assaulted a man.

He admitted it and was fined £700, to pay compensation of £100, to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £140 and to pay costs of £145 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

He was charged with on the same day assaulting a man, and the court finds that this offence was aggravated due to hostility based on the sexual orientation (or presumed sexual orientation) of the victim.

He was fined £700, to pay compensation of £50.

He was also charged with on April 3 at Benfleet pursued a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of a man and which you knew or ought to have known amounted to the harassment of him in that on 4 April 2021 via telephone and on 11 April 2021 in person used abusive language which caused the man to be harassed alarmed and distressed. He believed this was due to how he now identifies.

There was No separate penalty.
