A man has been arrested after a cannabis farm was found at a car wash in south Essex.
Officers carried out the raid at a boatyard on Canvey Island after 7am today.
They found more than 70 cannabis plants growing in ‘controlled conditions’.
The plants were found inside three rooms which were only accessible through a hole in the wall from the room where the suspect was eating and sleeping.

PC Stuart Sheridan, who led the operation, said: “The car wash was situated within a boatyard and thanks to intelligence from members of the public we were able to get a warrant, which we executed.
“When we entered the car wash, a gentleman came and opened the door who was an Albanian national. He’s been arrested for the cultivation of cannabis.
“I think it’s a fantastic result. It’s a blow to criminality on Canvey and it’s taking a bit more cannabis off the street.”
