A key road between Hadleigh and Benfleet will be closed in both directions next Monday (December 20).
The closure of Benfleet Road is being put in place to allow Anglian Water to carry out repairs to the carriageway.
Workers will be replacing the temporary surface with a permanent asphalt covering.
Access for both emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
A diversion will be in place, with drivers asked to travel via High Road, London Road, Bread And Cheese Hill, Kiln Road, Rayleigh Road and vice versa.
The closure is only due to be in place for one day and Benfleet Road is expected to reopen on Tuesday.
