EXPERTS continue to urge people to get their Covid booster jab in an effort to avoid another lockdown and keep people protected from the new Omicron variant.

Health bosses in south Essex have got a number of walk-in centres set up before Christmas in an attempt to get as many people jabbed as possible.

The places offering walk-in booster jabs this week are:

Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend

  • Thursday Dec 23 9:00am – 11.30pm
  • Friday Dec 24 9:00am – 1.30pm

Runnymede Hall, Kiln Road, Thundersley

  • Wednesday Dec 22 9:00am – 7:00pm
  • Thursday Dec 23 9:00am – 11.30pm

Alistair Farquharson Centre, Thurrock Community Hospital

New pop-up walk-in sites in Southend have also been arranged over the festive period.

The Balmoral Community Centre in Westcliff is open this Thursday, between 10am and 4pm, to 12 – 18 year-olds and their families who need either their first, second or booster jab.

No appointment is required.

Eastwood Community Centre will meanwhile be opening between 10am and 4pm on Thursday, December 30 and offering walk-in jabs.
