A MAN has been fined hundred of pounds after being caught speeding in Stanford-le-Hope.
Reza Ghatavi was stopped by Essex Police officers on April 14 driving his Ford Transit at 50 miles per hour on A13 westbound near the junction and Five Bells interchange.
The 47-year-old was 10 miles above the temporary 40 mile per speed limit – imposed by a local traffic order to ensure the safety of workmen undertaking roadworks.
Ghatavi pleaded guilty to the charge of speeding at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, November 24.
The judge issued a £216 fine and ordered Ghatavi to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34.
He also had three points struck onto his license.
