CARRIE Johnson brought her young children along to Southend over the weekend to enjoy a day out along the coast.

The Prime Minister’s wife posted photos of her and her two kids enjoying a stroll along Thorpe Bay seafront.

Son Wilfred could be seen paddling in the water in one of the pictures posted by Ms Johnson on her Instagram page, while daughter Romy was strapped to her front.

Family dog Dilyn also joined the Johnsons on their trip out, but it was not clear if the Prime Minister himself was with them during the visit.

Another photo showed Wilfred and Dilyn looking out towards the beach huts along the seafront and making the most of the sunshine.

Carrie was careful not to publish images showing her son’s face, in an effort to protect his privacy.

It came on the same weekend Home Secretary Priti Patel stopped off in Southend to help Anna Firth campaign for votes ahead of the upcoming by-election.

Ms Firth has been chosen as the Conservative candidate for Southend West following the death of previous MP Sir David Amess.

Both Labour and the Liberal Democrats will not be standing in the by-election in February, but UKIP and several other independent candidates will be on the ballot sheet.
