A MAN and woman have died following a serious crash in Essex yesterday, police have confirmed.

The collision, which happened around 1pm, involved a BMW and a Mini.

Detectives say two people in the Mini - a man in his 50s and a woman in her 30s - both died from their injuries.

A police spokesman said: "No arrests have been made and specialist officers are working to establish the circumstances which led to the collision.

"We continue to appeal for anyone who either witnessed the incident or recorded it on dashcam to come forward and speak to us if they have not already done so."

The crash happened in Parklands, Waltham Abbey, near to the junction with Congreve Road.

Police closed the road throughout the afternoon and into the evening to allow investigation work to take place.
