A POPULAR restaurant chain in south Essex has announced a limited edition menu to celebrate Veganuary.

Ed’s Diner at Lakeside is offering a wide range of vegan-friendly dishes to mark the annual campaign.

Bosses have teamed up with Rebel Vegan to provide a menu offering plant-based food.

But the menu still offers the classics, such as burgers and hot dogs – albeit with a vegan twist.

Foods included in the limited-time off include:

  • Nashville Hot ChiQin Burger
  • Quorn Buttermilk Burger
  • BBQ ChiQin and Cheese Burger
  • La Habana Burger
  • Moving Mountains Spicy BBQ Dog

The meals come with a range of hot sauces, onion rings or loaded fries.

There is also a range of vegan milkshakes on offer, with flavours such as peanut butter and Lotus biscuit, helping to keep within the rules.

A spokesman said: “Born from a passion for plant-based in the pandemic, breakthrough cruelty-free and certified carbon neutral brand and Rebel Vegan are taking things a step further this January by taking over Lakeside.

"Ed’s Easy Diner is getting a plant-based makeover as Rebel Vegan brings diners a brand-new, limited-edition menu that’s all plants, no bull.

“Proving that being vegan is anything but vanilla, the Rebel Vegan menu is packed with delicious options from dreamy burgers to dirty hot dogs.”

The limited edition menu is available throughout January.
