POLICE have confirmed two men have been arrested following and alleged assault in Basildon.
The incident is said to have taken place on Wednesday, January 13.
Two men from Basildon were arrested on suspicion of attempt to cause grievous bodily harm with intent last night.
Both men, from Basildon - 32 and 27 - remain in custody for questioning.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: " Officers have arrested two men in connection with an investigation into an allegation of assault that happened in Basildon on Wednesday January 13.
"Two Basildon men – 32 and 27 – have been arrested on suspicion of attempt to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
"Both men remain in custody."
