A MAN who threw an item towards spectators at a football match has been banned from attending games for three years.
Matthew Garwood, 36, of Maydells, Basildon, was at a match at the London Stadium on September 30, 2019 when the incident happened.
The court heard Garwood had thrown the unknown item towards an area in which spectators were or may have been present.
He was charged with throwing a missile at the spectators area.
Garwood admitted the offence in November last year and at Stratford Magistrates' Court last week he was sentenced.
He was fined £360 and must pay a £36 victim services fund charge and £85 costs.
Magistrates also handed him a three year football banning order.
