Tools have been snatched from five commercial vehicles during a spate of thefts across Castle Point.
Essex Police says over the past week officers have received 7 reports of theft or attempted theft from motor vehicle across the district.
Of these seven incidents, five of them involved theft of tools from commercial vehicles.
The incidents include the following: On January 13 in Thorp Leas, Canvey - power tools were removed from Ford Transit On January 14 in Elsinor Avenue, Canvey entry was gained via a side window and tools stolen from Peugeot partner van.
The same day in Ferry Road, Benfleet - locks were drilled out and tools stolen from Ford Transit.
The same day, in Rat Lane, Benfleet - locks were cut out and tools stolen from a Vauxhall Vivaro.
Also that day in Daws Heath Road, Benfleet - locks drilled out and tools stolen from Mercedes Sprinter.
A spokesman for Essex Police - Castle Point District said: "We are urging vehicle owners to ensure that all valuables are removed and that vehicles are fully secured. Our officers are aware of the issue and are conducting patrols.
