POLICE have seized a car being driven on the A127 by a learner.

Essex Police’s operational support group had stopped the vehicle yesterday when it was travelling near Basildon.

The driver only had a provisional licence and was reported for a number of offences.

The OSG said on twitter: “Driver found to only have a provisional licence, was not supervised and had no insurance.

“Vehicle seized and driver reported for offences. “ The OSG went on to seize another vehicle today because the driver had no insurance.

They were alerted to a BMW in Southend which was seen taking ‘avoiding action’ after it spotted a marked police car.

Officers eventually caught up with the car and driver which is when they discovered there was no insurance.

The driver was reported while officers took the BMW away.
