A PARTIALLY blind man was left dazed in the street after being punched in the face and robbed by two thugs riding electric scooters.

The victim was attacked yesterday morning at roughly 6.40am in Kiln Road, Thundersley, close to Shipwrights Drive.

The pair punched the man in his left eye, where he is blind, before stealing his new iPhone 13.

His mother has now taken to social media to warn others and appeal for help, revealing he was left dazed by the attack.

The victim was able to fight off the two “young men” who targeted him as they attempted to also steal his wallet.

On Facebook, the mum said: “They tried to get his wallet but he stopped them.

“They then drove off on their electric scooters and got away.”

She added that her son was not hurt, but has been left furious by the attack and losing memories and photos stored on his iPhone.

The mum has urged anyone with information to speak to Essex Police as soon as possible.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “We were called shortly before 6.40am on Monday with reports a man had been robbed in Kiln Road.

“It was reported two people had approached the victim and stolen his mobile phone.

“The victim reported being punched during the incident.

“The suspects are both described as white and wearing black masks and hooded tops.

“One was riding a black scooter. Officers carrying out enquiries have arrested on person for drug driving and our enquiries are ongoing.

“We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage to contact us. If you have any information you can submit a report online at www.essex.
