Two people were arrested in connection with drink driving offences after a car ploughed into a road barrier.
Officers were called to the crash in Thurrock on Saturday night and made the quick arrests.
Police were also called to a crash in Basildon too.
Officers also say the two men are due to be charged with the offences as soon as possible.

A spokesman for Essex Roads Policing Team said: "Busy night shift for B2 RPU. Two arrests were made for drink driving following crashes Basildon and Thurrock, both drivers over the limit in custody and will be charged today.
"We also assisted the Essex Police Chelmsford team with a domestic incident and arrested a male for assault."
